Massachusetts parents are coming together to uphold transgender equality at the ballot this year. Not just to protect their transgender children from discrimination, but to say clearly that our Commonwealth will not tolerate discrimination in any shape or form.

They are sharing their stories as part of our Voices of Massachusetts storytelling project, and they’re joining our Massachusetts Parents for Freedom Coalition.

Non-discrimination Protections Say to Youth: You Belong

Right now, the law says transgender youth can go out in public and have as many opportunities as their peers. These protections allow them to feel more secure when they contemplate their futures. If the law is not upheld when voters go to the polls this fall, however, the message is very different.

Repealing Massachusetts’ hard-won non-discrimination protections sends the message to transgender youth that they aren’t welcome in our Commonwealth. It tells them that they should live daily with the threat of discrimination. And it says they should contemplate a future somewhere more welcoming.

Massachusetts shouldn’t send that message to anyone, let alone our youth. That’s why parents across the state are joining our campaign to vote YES and uphold transgender equality at the ballot. If you’re a concerned parent, join them:
