We’re entering a critical time for our campaign. In only 5 months, voters will start heading to the polls, and that’s just not much time to make sure we have all the YES votes we need to uphold Massachusetts’ law protecting transgender people from discrimination.
That’s why this summer is so important. Starting with Pride in June, summer is the season of parades and rallies where we can reach thousands of voters in one central spot. But to do this outreach, we have to raise $20,000 by this Thursday, May 31st, to fund our campaign through the end of the summer.
Thankfully, Fenway Health, an organization that does great work focusing on LGBT health, will match every dollar you give before Thursday, up to $10,000.
We have a chance to make history this year. Massachusetts is the first state in the nation forced to defend transgender equality at the ballot box—but that means we can also be the first state where voters say, unequivocally, that transgender people deserve equal protections under the law.
That means we must take advantage of this summer organizing season—and we must raise $20,000 to be able to do that.
